Grahamstown Woodworkers

June 2017

The June meeting was in the Design & Technology Centre at St Andrew's College.
Andre Esterhuyse, accompanied by Gerard Wong, from Strand Hardware in Port Elizabeth, demonstrated the new range of King Arthur tools that Strand Hardware has just received.

These are mainly wood sculpting tools. They consist of round discs that fit on any 115 mm angle grinder.

The Lancelot and Squire saw-chain cutting disks have different diameters and different numbers of teeth for coarse or fine cutting. Chains are replaceable and can be sharpened.

The Holey Galahad disks discs are covered with either carbide grid or short spikes and are designed to remove and sculpt wood in a quick and easy way. They are available with either a flat or curved profile. When disks become clogged with sawdust they can be cleaned by carefully burning off using methylated spirits

There are also smaller burrs available that can fit on any die grinder for smaller jobs.

Below are some of the photos taken by John Keulder.
